Practice, practice, practice.
Practicing what you will say when the topic is raised will instill extra confidence and allow you to guide the conversation. Role play and talk through all the potential scenarios. Remember to aim for the top of your estimated salary range, but be prepared to accept less. Many large employers either have formal pay structures or entry-level salaries set at fixed levels that are not negotiable. Also remember your audience. In most companies, hiring managers decide how to allocate their budgets. Human resource employees are messengers who report your past salary, requirements, etc., back to the hiring manager. In some organizations they negotiate on behalf of the hiring manager. Find out who makes the final decision about salary and deal as much as possible with that person.
